Company facts
Boilerplate
Short (50 words):
WrkCrew is Canada's trades-focused job board with mandatory pay disclosure. Every job posting shows the real hourly rate, no "competitive salary," no "DOE." Employers are verified, worker credentials are confirmed with issuing bodies, and the platform is free for workers, forever.
Long (100 words):
WrkCrew is a Canadian job board built specifically for skilled tradespeople and the contractors who hire them. Unlike generalist platforms, WrkCrew requires full pay disclosure on every posting, the exact hourly rate must be shown before a job goes live. Employers will be verified against business registration and WSIB/WCB records before posting. Workers will verify their trade certifications once, Red Seal, CWB tickets, safety tickets, and carry those credentials to every application. The platform is free for workers, permanently. Employers pay a subscription. WrkCrew launched in Alberta and Saskatchewan in 2026.
Founder
Callum Smith
Founder & CEO, WrkCrew
Callum Smith built WrkCrew to fix trades hiring in Canada. The platform's core insight: tradespeople are chronically underserved by generalist job boards that were designed for office workers. WrkCrew's three non-negotiables, mandatory pay disclosure, verified credentials, and SMS-first communication, address the specific frustrations of trades workers and the contractors who hire them.

Key claims
Mandatory pay disclosure on every job posting.
WrkCrew's platform automatically blocks job postings that don't include a specific hourly rate. Pay ranges with a spread greater than 40% are also rejected. This is enforced in code, not just policy.
Verified credentials, verified once, trusted everywhere.
Workers upload trade certificates and safety tickets once. WrkCrew cross-references against issuing bodies (Red Seal program, Alberta AIT, SaskTrades, CWB, provincial apprenticeship authorities). Once verified, the credential badge appears on every job application automatically.
Workers are always free.
There is no charge to workers for profiles, credential verification, job applications, or messaging. This is a permanent policy, not a temporary promotion.
Employers are verified before posting.
All employers must submit business registration (CRA Business Number), WSIB or WCB clearance, and insurance certificates before their account is activated. The admin team reviews each application.
